Why is this my chosen future?

• Every since I was young, I always had a passion for food and everything it could do. I truly just love the way food can change a mood. How a bowl of gumbo or a piece of fried chicken could bring smiles to people's faces. I love hearing the sissss sound the meat makes when it hits a hot grill. I love the the way heavy cream can turn into whipped cream right before your eyes. But, I especially love hearing the Mmmmm! or More please! from the people, friends and family enjoying what you put in front of them. I want to be a restaurant owning chef because I love how food can change itself and people.

Who inspired me to cook?

• My mama was a part of my inspiration, but I feel I truly wanted to cook because of Cat Cora. Being a female, I always heard the saying "A woman belongs in the kitchen," but I always wondered, if that were true, why are all the famous chefs male. You had Alton Brown teaching you on Good Eats, and Buddy Valastro on Cake Boss, and Bobby Flay on everything, so why is that saying true? But then I saw her, Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef standing there next to all these men holding her own. She wasn't intimidated or thrown off by them, she was doing what she do and killing it! I knew right then that I could do that too.

How do I think this blog will help me?

• I don't know, I guess we'll have to wait and see!
